The Ocean Race 2023 Kiel Fly-By
Sailing directly at the Kiellinie
On Friday, 9 June 2023, The Ocean Race, one of the toughest regattas around the globe, was in Kiel Fjord for the Kiel Fly-By. The turning mark for The Ocean Race Kiel Fly-By was directly in front of the Kiel Line, so that the spectators could experience the spectacular turning of the Ocean Racers live and up close. In addition, there was a varied supporting programme in the Ocean Live Park on the Kiellinie from 8 to 10 June. The focus here was on sailing and, above all, on sustainability, which is what connects the Ocean City of Kiel and The Ocean Race. In addition to a wide range of food, visitors could enjoy various sailing-related events and an entertaining stage programme including live streaming and moderation. The entire regatta ends on 1 July in Genova.
That was going on
35,000 spectators directly in the Ocean Live Park, 60,000 people along the Kiellinie and a total of 120,000 fans along the 7 km of coastline at the best viewing spots on the west and east shore known from Kiel Week. In the end, 45,000 people visited the Ocean Live Park alone, including the entire day and the evening concert on the RADIO BOB! Stage and DJ music on the Sustainable Bay Stage.
