    The restaurant Fischers Fritz is located in the Hotel Birke in the district of Kiel-Hasseldieksdamm. Here you can combine a culinary experience with a relaxing stay.     Since 2019, the stylishly renovated villa has served authentic traditional Indian dishes of the highest quality with a modern twist. Since May 2022, chef Abhishek Baloni has led the kitchen team of chefs from five different regions of India, each with their own style, offering a taste of the diversity of Indian cuisine. Only fresh, preferably regional and seasonal ingredients of the highest quality are used. Bread is baked fresh daily in the restaurant's own tandoori ovens. Paneer (cottage cheese) and spice blends are also homemade. The clean lines of the furniture and the elegant, warm lighting create a modern yet cosy ambience. The first class service and an exquisite wine list also contribute to making the dining experience a very special one.

    KOS defines itself as a gourmet restaurant for everyone, with a casual atmosphere and moderate prices – in other words, casual fine dining. The name refers to one of the most meaningful words in Norway, meaning warmth, friendliness, togetherness and laughter. The design of the restaurant, which opened in May 2022 – grey concrete walls, velvet armchairs, stylish light objects – and the friendly staff are meant to reflect all of this. Co-owner and chef Julian Rickert puts together two changing, regionally oriented menus, one of which is always vegetarian. He pays attention to freshness, regionality, creativity and craftsmanship – always considering the aspect of sustainability. The dishes are aromatic and visually well presented. Accompanying wines are recommended directly.

    At Pastis, it is not only the ambience but also the great food and courteous service that makes you feel relaxed. The kitchen uses only the freshest ingredients to create the finest quality dishes, including delicious starters, sensational steaks and unique tartare specialities. The selection of drinks is also comprehensive and very well thought out. Thanks to this convincing overall package, Pastis enjoys an excellent reputation. The restaurant was founded in 2014 by Susan and Sylvain Awolin, who have since received various awards for their excellent offer. The chefs Max Gerull and Lars Fauk ensure the outstanding quality of the dishes, which are prepared fresh daily. Lars Fauk has been running the business since August 2021.

    Britta Künzl and Mathias Apelt think outside the box and combine the cuisine of Schleswig-Holstein with inspiration from the cuisines around the world. They are always on the lookout for authentic flavours and that special taste – and discover the hidden treasures of their homeland with passion and curiosity. The cuisine is characterised by a focus on what is most important: the taste. No frills. Only good ingredients. Only what they like to eat and drink themselves is put on the plate and in the glass. Preference is given to smaller producers, most of whom produce small quantities in close-to-nature cultivation and elaborate handicraft. This comes with a resonable price due to the good quality.

The sea bar is located directly on the Kiel Fjord. You can also enjoy a hearty breakfast here. Afterwards, you can jump straight into the cool water from the jetty or rent a SUP.

    The ATLANTIC Hotel, centrally located opposite the train station, offers a great view with its Deck 8, a roof terrace - literally between the clouds. With sea air in their noses and an unobstructed view of the ships below on the fjord, guests can enjoy exquisite wines and fruity cocktails here. Deck 8 can also be booked exclusively for special occasions. This breathtaking ambience is not to be missed during a visit to the Kiel.

    As Germany's only completely floating beach bar with a total of 100 tonnes of sand, the Sandhafen exudes a true holiday feeling as soon as you step onto the jetty - and right in the middle of the city. Here you can take off your shoes while eating and drinking, roll up your trousers and roam through the warm sand with your bare feet.

    The north of the Kiel Fjord also hides some culinary treasures. The Strandhotel in Strande is a place to feel good - with the sound of the sea and a view of the lake. The menu includes regional specialities and freshly caught fish from fisherman Randy, who moors his cutter at the outer pier in Strande in the morning. New, exciting dishes are always created to match the season. The Strandhotel is particularly proud of its extensive wine cellar. So you can choose the right wine to go with every dish.

    Everyone feels welcome at Längengrad, because the restaurant's innovative concept is tailored to a diverse audience. Here, guests have an excellent view of all ships arriving and departing as well as the fjord. Events also find a special setting here.
