The artists' museum in the former studio house of the painter Heinrich Blunck offers classical concerts, (Low German) theater performances, entertaining shanty concerts, art exhibitions, lectures, readings and many other events. Not far away, the well-known submarine memorial towers on a headland in the fjord, marking the narrowest point in the estuary. On top of it, a mighty 4.60 meter high sea eagle is enthroned on a massive Weser sandstone pillar. Below the column, large plaques commemorate all submariners of German navies who lost their lives at sea in the line of duty.
