The SEALEVEL experience room takes you on a fascinating journey into the sea and the oceans. Young and old alike can listen to the songs of whales, be enchanted by pictures and films or playfully engage with the topic of marine conservation. There is so much to discover!

A journey into the world of the oceans

Welcome to SEALEVEL - an adventure space that shows you how beautiful and exciting the sea is, but also the challenges it faces. From the glittering water on the surface to the dark depths - the sea is not only home to many animals and plants, but also a place that fascinates many people. It can teach us many things and also reflects how the world is changing. Discover exciting exhibits, interesting scientific information and interactive stations that illustrate how important the ocean is for our lives.

In the SEALEVEL, you are at eye level with the sea. Jump in and let yourself drift or dive deeper and learn to understand the sea. Have fun on your journey from the coast through the ocean to the deep sea!

Are you planning a visit with several sea enthusiasts? No problem - we also welcome small private groups as well as day-care centres and school groups. Simply contact us in advance by phone or email so that we can coordinate your visit as best as possible.

More than just an exhibition

The SEALEVEL brings together exhibits from all of Kiel's marine science institutions in one place - right in the centre of the pedestrian zone. This central location was deliberately chosen to make the SEALEVEL a place of encounter. A place where you feel at home and are invited to leave your own footprint.

Discover our creative wall

Right in the entrance area, you can leave your thoughts, handicrafts and other creative works on the theme of the sea. Our selfie spot is also located here!

Go on an expedition

Children and young people can pick up our research rally at the information desk and become certified deep-sea explorers with the right answers. - Tip: Fun for adults too!

Our constantly growing programme offers a wide range of experiences, insights and opportunities for participation for all generations, from creative workshops to readings and specialist lectures.
