We're getting going again! The 16th Boat Harbour Summer will take place from July 19th - August 25th 2024 in the heart of Kiel's city center. On six weekends, visitors can look forward to a variety of live music and various themed days on Fridays and Saturdays between 3 pm and 10 pm.

Artists from a wide range of genres, from punk to classical to reggae, provide the soundtrack to summer for every taste against a maritime backdrop. The organizers from Kiel-Marketing attach great importance to a wide range of music - and provide both newcomers from Kiel and nationally known acts with a stage in a unique location. The catering partners spoil guests with culinary delights and summery cold drinks.

The INTERREG project "BSR Cultural Pearls" aims to empower cities, municipalities and regions of the Baltic Sea Region to increase their social resilience. By harnessing the potential of local culture and creativity, it also aims to promote cooperation in the communities, the quality of life and the attractiveness of the regions and improve their visibility.
The Cultural Pearl stands for creativity, exchange and community. The boat harbor summer serves as a platform for various inclusive activities, such as sing-along concerts, a salsa flashmob and a graffiti workshop.

What belongs together, grows together. The Musico e.V. association has been committed to Kiel's local music scene for over 30 years. The initiative supports, promotes and inspires its members for the most beautiful hobby in the world - music from all genres. The association offers rehearsal opportunities in the now three Musico rehearsal centers, organizes various events and workshops and thus connects old and young generations of musicians. The members are actively involved in all areas in order to tackle challenges and implement new ideas. After all, as the statutes state: "The association is what its members make of it."

On August 3, the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kieler Auslandsvereine will be moving into our festival pagodas on the waterfront terrace of the boat harbour with colorful multicultural diversity. From 3 p.m., the summer festival of Kiel's foreign associations - AKA for short - will delight visitors with culinary specialties, typical local dancing and singing as well as exciting facts about the various countries and communities. Associations from China, Japan, Ukraine, Great Britain, the Philippines, Ghana, Poland, Sweden and Nigeria will also be taking part. The ZBBS e.V. is the facilitator and cooperation partner.
As a further strong partner and in the spirit of peaceful unity, Color Line is supporting the AKA Summer Festival this year. inka - the Kiel initiative against child poverty - supports children from low-income families who do not learn to play a musical instrument, take dance lessons or play a sport. Here, inka helps on the basis of donations and promotes a wide range of musical and sporting activities in their free time. Parents and teachers repeatedly confirm how valuable inka's support is for the children's personal and academic development. Last year, inka was able to support 455 children. The proceeds from the charity weekend will go to the orchestra class at Gerhart Hauptmann Primary School in Ellerbek. Over a two-year period, pupils in the 3rd grade are accompanied from learning an instrument to forming a small orchestra.

More than 100,000 ducks have been sent into the race over the last 17 years, raising a total of over 1 million euros for charitable causes here in Kiel. This year, the boat harbor will once again be the venue for the race. Simply get your racing license and join in the excitement on race day. Great prizes await the winners! Yes, there are public toilets available free of charge. There is also a barrier-free toilet on site for holders of a so-called Euro key. If you do not have such a key, simply contact us.
In addition to the musicians, there will be table football and the popular sack punch for the little ones. You can pick up free hearing protection at the information stand.
For small and large appetites, you will find everything your heart desires, from hearty burgers, fish sandwiches, chips, vegan savory crepes and falafel to gyros. For dessert, there is ice cream and vegan sweet crepes.
The drinks on offer range from classics such as beer and soft drinks to freshly made cocktails, long drinks and various coffee specialties.
Yes, you are in a public area during the event. However, please bear in mind that a great and expensive program is put together here every year and that the organizer or the stand operators are therefore also dependent on the sale of drinks and food.
The Bootshafen is centrally located in the heart of Kiel and can be easily reached by bus, bicycle, car or on foot.
The bus stop "Bootshafen" is served by the KVG bus lines 30S, 32, 41/42 and 61/62. Here you can get timetable information via Nah.SH.
Sufficient parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity. Information at www.parken-plus.info.
Bicycle racks are available. You can also use the SprottenFlotte bike-sharing service. The first 30 minutes are free of charge.
Access to the event is barrier-free, and a disabled toilet is available for holders of a Euro WC key.
