Open Water Kiel
Lighthouse Swim 2024
On July 13 2024, the fourth Lighthouse Swim Open Water will take place in Kiel, where swimmers will swim together for marine conservation from Schilksee to the Friedrichsort lighthouse. Registration is now open. The LHS team is now working on the detailed planning for this year.
Swimming for marine conservation
Together with the participants, the Lighthouse Swim aims to set an example for the preservation of the unique marine habitat that makes Kiel so special for locals and tourists. Participants start in Schilksee and can choose between two swimming routes - 14 kilometers along the "Fjord Track" to the sailing camp on the Kiellinie or 4 kilometers along the "Beach Track" to the Friedrichsort lighthouse.
The project, which is taking place for the fourth time this year, is initiated by The Bay Areas e. V., Kiel-Marketing and swimmers from Kiel and San Francisco as part of the city partnership. The Lighthouse Swim is accompanied by a colourful and informative supporting program about marine conservation.
