THW Kiel - Handball in a class of its own

THW Kiel has been the city's sporting figurehead for decades. The history books of the traditional club, founded in 1904, include the 2012 season, in which they won the championship title without losing any points and also won the cup and the Champions League.

Holstein Kiel - Football on the fjord

Kieler Sportvereinigung von Holstein 1900 e.V., better known as Holstein Kiel, is one of the most traditional clubs in the whole of Germany and is also the flagship of the Schleswig-Holstein Football Association.

The "Storks", as they are affectionately known, have been playing in the 2nd Bundesliga since the 2017/2018 season. The public can expect many exciting, atmospheric and hopefully successful home matches in the Holstein Stadium, which holds 15,034 spectators.

KTV Adler - a volleyball experience

No other volleyball club in the 2nd Division North receives as much support at its home matches as the "Adler" from the state capital. Above all, it is the event character of the Hein-Dahlinger-Schulsporthalle that those responsible incorporate into their matchday planning. The club is known for this beyond the state borders.

Kiel Baltic Hurricanes - The American Football Dream

It is no longer a secret that the hype surrounding American football is growing in Germany. Schleswig-Holstein's most successful football team is based in Kiel.Sailing.City. With the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes, a professional team has been playing in the state capital since 1989. From 1996 to 2002, the Canes were part of the first Bundesliga for the first time. Since 2007, they have held their own in the Erima German Football League (GFL) and even won the championship title in 2010.

The Whirlwinds' home ground is the Kilia Stadium, where they have been cheered on by their fans since 2013. In addition to the men's team in the first Bundesliga, the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes also have A, B and C youth teams, a second men's team and a women's team. The American Sports Club e.V., to which the teams belong, also plays flag football in a senior team. Three cheerleading teams are part of ASC Kiel to support all the players.

TSV Altenholz - Third league handball on a grand scale

The TSV Altenholz handball team is a strong representative of handball in the Kieler Förde region. Currently in the top third of the 3rd division North-East with a consistently superior performance, the team from the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district is aiming for promotion to the 2nd division in the medium term.

Their home games take place in the Edgar-Meschkat-Halle in Altenholz-Stift. The TSV Altenholz players fight with passion and team spirit to inspire their fans. Every game is an exciting duel in which they give their best. The diversity of handball in Kiel is highlighted by the TSV Altenholz team and contributes to the sporting diversity of the city.

Together with the participants, the Lighthouse Swim aims to set an example for the preservation of the unique marine habitat that makes Kiel so special for locals and tourists alike. Participants can choose between two routes and swim 14 kilometers along the "Fjord Track" or 4 kilometers along the "Beach Track" from Schilksee to the Friedrichsort lighthouse or to the sailing camp on the Kiellinie.
