Kiel is blossoming!

This square is home to a colourful sea of flowers from the Paulwitz plant farm, which invites you to stock up for your own garden or balcony. All plant lovers will find what they are looking for here!
Lovingly made arts and crafts and delicious food are also on offer, which can be shopped for and enjoyed in a cosy atmosphere.

Here, trainees from the City of Kiel's green space department present the varied profession of gardeners in horticulture and landscaping.

Using various small construction sections, they vividly demonstrate the different areas of activity in their profession - from paving work and planting work to professional pruning. Small show gardens are created according to predetermined plans, in which different materials and plants are used.

Visitors can experience first-hand how a landscaped garden area is created step by step from planning.

During the event, trainers will also be available to answer questions about training and everyday working life in gardening and landscaping. You might even take home a helpful tip or two for your own garden.

There will be savoury and sweet food right next door and the Schleswig-Holstein Cancer Society will provide information and advice on the topics of cancer and prevention on Sunday.

Varied culinary delights and colourful hands-on activities for young and old:

In the "Friedrich Illustration" postcard workshop , colourful works of art can be created around the themes of spring, flowers and movement (12 - 4 pm).

Attention bike enthusiasts: Picocycles will be presenting a selection of exciting bikes to discover and try out on Sunday. Personal advice will be given directly at the event, questions will be answered and initial recommendations will be made. The "Geschichtswerkstatt Barockoko " will be showing all day how sculptures are carved from soap and invites everyone to join in.

If you dream of having your own greenery on the balcony or in the garden, this is the place for you: Rankwerk will show you how easy it is! You can make your own DIY growing pots and try fresh cress straight from the stand. Children can also get creative - who knows whose drawing will end up on the Rankwerk seed bags next.

Explore the excavator!

From 1 to 4 pm, an excavator will be waiting to be discovered in Obere Holstenstraße (on the corner of Faulstraße). An excavator driver will explain the functions of the construction machine. Attentive listeners will receive an "excavator pass" at the end.

Colour in your own building site

At SEALEVEL (Holstenstraße 2-12), creative children can find colouring pictures on the theme of construction sites. Here you can take a break, create beautiful pictures and explore the deep sea at the same time.

"The one with the green hat" offers a colourful hands-on circus programme (Saturday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.).

On Sunday, children can complete the mini sports badge organised by Sportverband Kiel e.V. free of charge. As part of an imaginative story, the children go through five adventure stations and complete various disciplines. The little pirates' efforts are then rewarded with a certificate and medal.

Small, colourful neighbourhood festival in front of the Support Store in Kehdenstraße on Saturday from 1 - 9 pm and Sunday from 1 - 5 pm.
