The Low German language theatre on Wilhelmplatz preserves tradition while moving with the times. Classics are performed, but also completely new plays that have a completely different effect when translated into Low German. The theatre is definitely worth a visit. Actress Britta Poggensee agrees.

"Why do you want to visit us? First of all, this is a beautiful house. When you come in, it has such a cosy atmosphere. It's simply a house with a lot of history. And the room is special to others. The Sprook is also a part of Schleswig-Holstein's history and culture. And even if you can't understand a single word, you can still see what's happening on stage and you can guess the rest. It's just a wonderful language. I've always wondered why I'm actually standing on stage and acting, and not playing tennis or something else. You work towards a result and then it's okay if there's a good response from the audience. And when the guests have a nice evening, they know why you're doing it and why you put so much energy into it."
