Beaches

Kiel is the state capital of beaches. Around Kiel, on the western and eastern shores, the beaches boast fine sand, wild nature and plenty of holiday feeling. The best thing is that almost every beach can be easily reached from the city in no more than half an hour.

Lighthouse Swim

On 5th July 2025, the fifth Lighthouse Swim Open Water will take place in Kiel, where swimmers will swim together for marine conservation from Schilksee to the Friedrichsort lighthouse.
