Beautiful and right on the outskirts of Kiel: Falckenstein beach! At almost three kilometres long, there is plenty of space to relax, sunbathe and swim. And those in need of action will also be happy here - for example climbing in the High Spirits high ropes course, water sports at the Westwind SUP & Surf School Kiel, mini golf at Golf und Mee(h)r or on the volleyball courts.

Schilksee beach

There is something for everyone in Schilksee, as the beach is divided into different areas - including a nudist area and a dog beach. Particularly practical for families with (small) children: the water remains pleasantly calm thanks to the breakwaters and the DLRG watches over the swimmers. There is also a beach chair hire service, catering facilities and even a pedalo hire service! And if you want to let off steam not only in the water but also on land, you can use the volleyball courts for free and smash away.

Originally a fishing village, Strande quickly became a centre of attraction for all those in search of relaxation and bathing fun! The main attraction is the wide sandy beach - running gently into the water, it is suitable for both big and small water rats. On top: As the home of the Kiel Surf Club, water sports are of course also very popular here!

Mönkeberg beach
If you take the fjord ferry to Mönkeberg, for example, you will land at three small, family-friendly beach bays that are perfect for swimming. Right next door is the idyllic marina with its tiny lighthouse, the "Juliusturm". If you don't just want to lie on the beach and sizzle in the sun, simply follow the fjord hiking trail and walk along the fjord via Kitzeberg and Heikendorf to Laboe.

Are you more of a relaxation or action team on the beach? Whereby ... basically, the question is superfluous, because in Heidkate you can do both! The 3.7-kilometre-long natural beach attracts guests who want to relax and sizzle in the sun behind the dyke as well as surfers who want to hit the waves. You'll find the surf spot between the 4th and 5th groyne. Our tip: Be sure to watch the fabulously beautiful sunset in Heidkate - preferably while enjoying a cosy picnic!

Brazil

Why travel to South America when you can have Brazil in Schleswig-Holstein! The 1.6 kilometre-long beach is super fine sandy, the sea glistens deep blue ... only the dyke reveals that we have North German soil under our feet. Things get really wild on the action and fun beach: here, the Wassersport Brasilien surf school offers courses in surfing and windsurfing, among other things.

Right at the forefront when it comes to Baltic Sea charm: Schönberg beach. This is the perfect place for those who long for peace, space and nature. On one side of the dyke, you can lie comfortably in the sand with a view of the pier and let the sun shine on your belly, while on the other side of the dyke you can stroll past quaint fishermen's huts and restaurants - that's how a holiday should be!
