First swim of the season

We start spring together by swimming in the Kiel Fjord - with a dip in the ice-cold water! Whether in a swimming costume, neoprene or crazy costume, everyone is welcome. Afterwards there will be hot drinks to warm you up. A cheerful event for everyone who wants to welcome spring.

Cold fjord, cool atmosphere: swimming in 2026

A bit of warm clothing can 't hurt when jumping into the 3-6 degree cold fjord. You can bring plenty of sporty outfits and colourful team colours, because this year the theme of the swim in the Seebar Düsternbrook is "Olympics". The Olympic idea of community, courage and fair competition will accompany the brave swimmers, while the KMTV will ensure that everyone is well prepared for the ice-cold water under the watchful eye of the water patrol with an energetic warm-up. The Holstein Cheerleader Lights will add extra glamour with their rousing show.

Kiel.Sailing.City stands for water sports at the highest level like hardly any other place. The motto "Olympia" fits perfectly. After the first fjord swim of the year for most participants , everyone can regenerate like true Olympians with a free hot drink from the Seebar and in the Jante Sauna Bus. And as every year, the big KIELGUTSCHEIN wheel of fortune will be spinning - a highlight full of small and large "medal moments".

In short: it will be a wonderful day full of Olympic team spirit, fresh sea air and a great atmosphere at Seebad Düsternbrook.
