Schilksee

This fjord town radiates Olympic flair!

Schilksee is a district in the north of Kiel and has been an absolute sailing hotspot since the seventies. The sailing harbor was created in the course of the sailing competitions of the Olympic Games in 1972 and is one of the largest sailing harbors on the German east coast. Schilksee's promenade invites you to stroll and the atmosphere is especially beautiful in summer! For the Kieler Woche, the promenade turns into a mile with good food and stalls around sailing and water sports.

Beach

Schilksee is home to the longest beach in the state capital of Kiel. The beach is divided into different sections and there is, among other things, a nudist area and a dog beach. So there is something for everyone. Some volleyball courts are also located directly on the beach and can be used freely in the summer. Beach chairs can also be rented. For the cold days, you can visit the seawater swimming pool at the Olympic Center.
