Tips for bad weather in Kiel

Kiel can certainly offer sunshine, no question about it! Buuut we have to admit that Kiel can also bring wind, drizzle and dreary weather. But don’t panic – those grey clouds are by no means a reason to hole up indoors. Whether you’re a tourist or a true Kieler, we’ve put together the best tips for things to do in Kiel when it’s raining. From action and culture to wellness, there’s something for everyone.

Wellness & Sauna

When it’s cold outside, you just have to find other ways to warm up – for example, in the RUNE Sauna or the private saunas at Saunli (and there’s also a sauna at the Hörnbad ). If you want to go all out and really let your mind wander, pop into the Birke Spa. Here you can switch off and recharge your batteries – perfect for rainy days when you need a bit of a pick-me-up.

At the Zoological Museum, you can admire, amongst other things, the enormous skeleton of a sperm whale, as well as significant collections from historic marine zoological expeditions.
