Möltenort main beach
The main beach is just a short walk away. Here you can stroll, swim and chat. Children can climb and romp around on the cool play ship or use the beach volleyball court right on the beach. When hunger strikes, you will find a range of different catering establishments side by side - from snacks such as chips and fish sandwiches to fine regional cuisine - plus ice cream and refreshing drinks, of course. No matter what you choose, all of the locations have one thing in common: an unbeatable view of the sea and, in the evening, a marvellous sunset.
Sleeping beach chair
The sun is setting, but you still want to linger on the beach? If you want to spend the night there, Heikendorf has a very special highlight in store for you: the sleeping beach chair. Falling asleep cosily for two on the beach - isn't that romantic? Enjoying the sunset from your bed and waking up to the sound of the sea is an unforgettable experience. From May to October, you can book the sleeping beach chair at the Welcome Centre Kiel Fjord, at the Heikendorf Tourist Information Office or online here. Then it's time to tuck your bed linen under your arm and move in!
But that's not all...
The former artists' colony also has a lot to offer beyond bathing fun and culinary attractions. For example, exciting, inspiring art in a fairytale house surrounded by a blossoming garden with marvellous resting places. This idyllic setting awaits you at the Heikendorf Artists' Museum. The former property of the painter Heinrich Blunck (1891-1963) is still adorned with some of the trees and shrubs of his time. The art kiosk is also a very special experience. During the summer months, various artists from the region exhibit their works directly on Möltenort's main beach - either to take away or to order. Heikendorf is also a wonderful place to stroll and shop: from shops selling everyday essentials to Scandinavian fashion and cute knick-knack shops, everything is on offer here. Many people from Kiel come here especially to visit the Eco Concept Store Blaues Wunder, the lovingly stocked Kaufhaus der Kunst or the fashion shop Vestitum, for example.
